But anyway, I was putting back stuff under the dining table, when my son asked, \u201cDid you send the photos to Nani?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because while I was busy making sure every guest had an extra slice of pizza and that no one slipped on the balloon ribbons, I had forgotten the golden rule of modern-day parenting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t document it, did it even happen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Slideshow Is Not Just a Reel<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s be clear \u2014 this isn\u2019t about going viral on Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s about something slower. Softer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s about stringing together those fleeting moments \u2014 the frosting on your daughter\u2019s nose, the hug between cousins who only meet once a year, the way your child looked at the sparkler candle when it flared to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s about stitching joy into sequence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Start With the Messy Camera Roll<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t need a DSLR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just go through the blur of photos on your phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Look for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The candid smiles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The slightly blurry dance moves<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The uncle who brought his guitar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The plate of samosas everyone finished<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The shoes lined up at the door<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Put them in order. Or don\u2019t. Sometimes chaos tells a better story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Add Music That Means Something<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Not just trending songs. But music your child loves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe it\u2019s a Hindi movie theme. Maybe it\u2019s an acoustic version of \u201cHappy Birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe it\u2019s&nbsp;<em>\u201cNaatu Naatu\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;because that\u2019s what got everyone dancing in the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Music carries emotion. It says what the pictures cannot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tools Are Easy. The Thought Is What Matters<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Use Google Photos, iMovie, Canva, or even WhatsApp\u2019s status feature. Here\u2019s a little something to remember the day.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No hashtags. No filters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just love, shared quietly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>And Finally\u2026<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll probably cry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just a little. Out of joy and exhaustion and relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the slideshow ends and you see your child\u2019s face frozen in a moment of glee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because that\u2019s the thing about slideshows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They hold still the seconds you didn\u2019t know were golden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So go ahead.
